The Union & BlackWolf, The Fleece, Bristol, 27 March 2013

Originally supposed to play Bristol at the end of February, The Union rescheduled the last dates of the tour due to singer, Peter Shoulder contracting a rather nasty infection, and possibly risking his glorious voice if they carried on.  A month or so later, you certainly wouldn't have known - Mr. Shoulder and indeed the band, were on absolute blinding form playing to a sold-out, rapturous choir of a crowd. The Union seem to outdo themselves each time I've seen them (6 times and counting).

Opening up the show were Bristol's own BlackWolf, who have been causing more than a bit of a stir across the UK over the last couple of years (and who I shot for Hard Rock Hell's Bath & Bristol Chapter way back in 2011). Keep an eye out for these chaps, they will be howling somewhere near you in the future...

The Union have recently released their stellar third album, 'The World is Yours,' and are due to record a live DVD in Derby on the 22nd June:

BlackWolf are currently funding their debut album via Pledge, help them out at

SKAM, Sons of Icarus & Hell's Addiction: Leicester Academy 2, 1st March 2013

Nearly a year exactly to the day I first saw SKAM supporting The Answer and The Union in Belfast, I headed up to Leicester to shoot the band's biggest headlining home town show to date. It was originally intended as the launch for the video for their second single, "Massacre" however Classic Rock Magazine featured it was their website the week before.

And what a gig it was, SKAM said afterwards it was the gig of their career - and it's quite a honor to have witnessed part of bands history. The atmosphere from the crowd went through the roof once SKAM hit the stage, having been nicely whipped up into a frenzy by Leicester's own Hell's Addiction and Guildford's Sons of Icarus (a fellow support band of The Answer also).

If you haven't heard of these bands yet, by the end of 2013 you will have. Check em out!
